Can't take the Newsy class?
If your schedule is keeping you away from the Newsy class, fear not, you've got some options. Talk to your advisor about whether you would be able to do an independent study. An independent study is typically worth 3 credit hours. For 3 credit hours, you would complete two, five-hour shifts per week at Newsy. We have also had students complete 1 or 2 hour independent studies in the newsroom. It all depends on what you are interested in doing. For more information, please contact the Newsy instructor, Jim Flink.
If you can't enroll in an independent study or you simply don't need the credits, Newsy accepts interns on a space-available basis. Learn more about our internships here.
